My journey at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode has been one of anticipation, reflection, and profound learning. To be on this campus is not merely to add credentials, but to immerse in an ecosystem where ideas, mentorship, and creativity converge, where personal growth becomes inseparable from collective wisdom.
The foundation of this journey has been the Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation (ENVc) programme, which I have been pursuing over an extended period. ENVc has been a transformative experience, shaping how I view entrepreneurship not just as the launch of new ideas, but as the disciplined art of refining them, testing their resilience, and aligning innovation with strategy. It continues to challenge me to think beyond immediate opportunities, to anticipate change, and to nurture ventures with both vision and adaptability.
Alongside this core programme, I also completed the Management Development Programme on Strategies for Product and Marketing. This course added a sharp layer of market-oriented thinking to my learning, equipping me with insights into positioning, consumer behaviour, and execution strategies. Together, these experiences complement one another, allowing me to connect entrepreneurial creativity with structured strategic approaches.
The journey has been enriched by the guidance of remarkable faculty. Prof. Sreejesh S, Programme Coordinator and Associate Professor of Marketing Management, brings an extraordinary balance of academic insight and practical application to the programme’s design. His thoughtful structuring ensures that every participant not only learns frameworks but also understands how to translate them into real-world impact.
Meeting Prof. M.K. Nandakumar was another moment of clarity. His scholarship in strategy, combined with his global perspective, challenged me to see beyond the immediacy of results. From him, I have come to appreciate strategy not simply as planning, but as foresight and resilience, a way of preparing ventures to thrive in uncertain landscapes.
My visit to the Indian Business Museum introduced me to the lifelong dedication of Mr. Appasaheb Naikal, whose passion for knowledge management and business heritage is deeply inspiring. The museum itself is a living chronicle of India’s entrepreneurial spirit, reminding me that progress is always anchored in a respect for history.
This journey has also been shaped by creative individuals who add new dimensions to the campus experience. Engaging with Mr. Shajin K.S, fondly known as Drone Machan, revealed how storytelling through innovative mediums like aerial videography can capture the essence of IIM Kozhikode in ways beyond words. His work reflects the vibrancy that exists alongside academic rigor, adding richness to the community.
What makes this entire journey truly special is the feeling of renewal it brings. From classroom discussions to quiet walks in the serene green campus, from cultural evenings to explorations of Kozhikode’s heritage and beaches, every interaction has been refreshing. The blend of intellectual vibrancy and natural tranquility creates an atmosphere that constantly inspires me to think bigger, work harder, and stay curious.
One of the most memorable gestures during this journey was the opportunity to present books to professors and dignitaries. It felt symbolic, an exchange that went beyond the classroom, embodying respect, gratitude, and the spirit of sharing ideas.
As I reflect on these experiences, I realize that what sets IIM Kozhikode apart is not only its curriculum but the holistic ecosystem it nurtures. It is a place where mentorship, creativity, scholarship, and community thrive side by side. For me, this has not simply been a phase of study, but a rejuvenating journey, a chance to reset perspectives, to honour history while embracing innovation, and to carry forward a renewed sense of purpose.
